If this ship was doing back-to-back itineraries, I would have begged and pleaded to stay aboard. We found the cuisine aboard the American Eagle to be very good. In fact, every guest that we dined with aboard the ship agreed. We also found the ship to have enough public space aboard to comfortably accommodate everyone without any of the crowding found on other ships. The staff on cruise ship were amazing
I would have liked a "lunch bar" similar to the breakfast bar on Deck 4. That would have some MYO sandwich options or some small salads, or maybe a self-serve pot of soup. The rooms are a good size with a lot of draw space. The closet has 12 coat hangers, but you could add more.

Great staff, even greater fellow passengers. Hotel general Manager, Bill and Cruise Director, Hannah were super. Excursions, crew and overall cruise were above expectations. Only one complaint, having to wait sometimes for quite awhile for food in the dining room. We had a wonderful time and everyone was excellent in serving us and helping us throughout the week. In fact, I didn’t want to get off of the ship.

Shore excursions had something for everyone and some were complimentary or extra cost. Tour guides were extremely informative and provided extensive historical information. Food was excellent and had something for everyone. Colin, Thania, Mark and Princess get high marks for their service and dedication.

The ship was very clean, and it was very easy to get around. The variety of excursion choices made it easy to choose what we wanted to do. The fact that there are so many places in the USA to see, is a big plus. Our first River cruise we really enjoyed the friendly staff, food, service and the excursions. The second vessel in American Cruise Line's "modern riverboat" series, American Harmony eschews the Mark Twain-esque aspects that have traditionally characterized Mississippi River cruises.
The small ships make every cruise interesting as you can go to towns that nobody else can visit. They have itineraries all over the country and different types of ships. Weve been on the paddleboats and the new ones that have a modern design. Both are nice, but the modern ones are the way to go in our opinion. The enrichment on the ship is first-class, with an enthusiastic river historian who could make even the driest subject riveting. The entertainment is on point for the audience, with musical acts and comedians brought in from New Orleans, Vicksburg and other stops along the river. Don't expect much rock music -- this is an audience that better knows the words to "Old Man River" than "Proud Mary" -- and you'll be fine. And the line does a well-attended cocktail hour before dinner with a full bar. Listen, you can have the best ships in the world, but if the staff and crew can’t make you feel at home and well taken care of, then forget it.

The crew is wonderful and the chef did an outstanding job of catering to different needs. House keeping was very efficient and did a great job on the rooms. The entertainment on the cruise was fun and really good. All the staff coordinating the excursions including the bus drivers, Kim, were great. I loved the staff, shore excursions and excellent bus drivers especially Tina.
